Event Description

The Kearney Public Library Foundation and the library proudly present an evening of conversation and readings with two amazing authors: Mary Roach and Gail Tsukiyama! A book signing will follow the presentations. This is a free, ticketed event.

Mary Roach is the author of seven New York Times bestsellers, including "STIFF: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" and "GULP: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal." Her latest book "FUZZ: When Nature Breaks the Law," debuted in September 2021. Mary's books have been published in 21 languages, and her second book, "SPOOK," was a New York Times Notable Book. Mary has written for "National Geographic," "Wired," and "The New York Times Magazine," among others.

Gail Tsukiyama was born in San Francisco, California to a Chinese mother from Hong Kong and a Japanese father from Hawaii. She is the bestselling author of "Women of the Silk" and "The Samurai's Garden." Her latest novel, "The Brightest Star," was released in June 2023. This magnificent historical novel is based on the life of the luminous, groundbreaking actress Anna May Wong — the first and only Asian American woman to gain movie stardom in the early days of Hollywood.
